Loan calculator FAQ

What is the difference between diminishing balance and add-on interest?

With diminishing balance, interest is charged only on what you still owe, so each payment has less interest and more principal. With add-on (flat) interest, the interest is computed on the full loan amount for the whole term and divided equally. At the same quoted rate, add-on interest costs much more. The “True yearly rate” shows the real cost so you can compare.

Are the SSS, Pag-IBIG and GSIS values exact?

They are typical starting values only. Rates, fees and terms change and depend on your membership, salary and loan program. Always check the exact figures with SSS, Pag-IBIG, GSIS or your bank, then type them in.

What does “Cash you receive” mean?

Some lenders take service, processing or insurance fees from the loan before releasing it. Cash you receive is the loan amount minus those fees. You still repay the full loan amount.

What is the true yearly rate?

It is the yearly interest rate that matches what you actually receive and what you actually pay back, including add-on interest and fees. Use it to compare offers that quote rates in different ways.

Can I save or print the schedule?

Yes. Use Print schedule and choose “Save as PDF” in the print window, or Download CSV to open the schedule in Excel or Google Sheets.
